The "Stone Age" was a prehistoric period during which stone was widely used to make tools with an edge, a point or a hammering surface. During this time, many cave drawings and rock paintings were created by prehistoric humans. These scenes depict mostly animals, especially ones used for food, such as the rhinoceros or large cats.
"Stone Age" was inspired by these cave paintings. This piece portrays early human life during paleolithic times, evoking sounds of the hunt, the tenuous nature of life in these times, and the triumph of human spirit over adversity.
