The entirety of the piece is set on a singular, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003econsistent tempo (Tempo giusto) to give a strict, mechanical feel to the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eperformance. The utilisation of dexterous melodic lines and extended \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eharmonies, alongside metallic timbres from muted brass and percussion, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eillustrate the complex, highly automated society we see today. Whilst \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003enot being a metallic instrument, the xylophone also plays a prominent \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003erole in capturing the digital feel in the music by mimicking the staccato \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003esynth sounds of electronics (bleeps\/bloops).
