---------------------------
This incredibly important piece of wind ensemble music is written by the Indigenous Australian composer James Henry. Based on words by Theresa Sainty, it was commissioned by the Derwent Valley Concert Band under the baton of Lyall McDermott.
The program notes are a vital part of the understanding of the work, and they have been included as graphics here on the product page where you would normally find the score preview. You are strongly encouraged to read them and contemplate them prior to commencing your journey with this work.
The audio file does not include the Introduction, or the two "Transitions" as they are quite aleatoric and utilise sounds which cannot be faithfully reproduced in a midi file. They have been omitted from the audio out of respect. Your musicians will be actively involved in bringing these sections to life, creating a sound scape of birds, stones, wind and other sounds from Country.
We are honoured and privileged to publish this work for James, and thank him for allowing us to help bring it market for the enjoyment of many, many musicians, conductors and audiences alike. - Matt Klohs
