The inspiration for ‘Australians Assemble’ comes from the characters that Australian soldiers have assembled on the battlefield. The soldiers are quoted to be brave, disciplined, and courageous. This makes them extremely loyal to their country, and they are willing to sacrifice their lives, especially in wars such as WW1, which was set in Gallipoli. This significantly contributes to the nation’s development and remains a key component of the identity of all Australians today.
This piece is a Brass Band march consisting of multiple strains featuring the principal cornet, euphonium, and soprano cornet player, and a catchy bass line with a sense of brilliance that contextually shows the Australian spirit throughout the whole piece.
