Description
Duration 4:00 min
---------------------------
This piece reflects the feeling of being drawn to the bush. The need to walk amongst the rock scapes, fern forests, smell the eucalyptus, hear the birds, feel the smooth texture of the gum trees under your fingertips. A sense of adventure exploring new terrain.
This piece is written for, and by, my 11-year-old daughter Olive. I heard her improvising and singing a warm, legato melody which I borrowed from her as the seedling for this work. This was then developed during our time spent together on the lands of the Yuin Nation in the Murramarang National Park at Depot Beach, NSW.
