Description
"Swooped!" is an energetic piece which takes both performer and listener on a wild ride through the streets of Queensland. It tells the story of an innocent cyclist who, whilst enjoying the spring scenery on a carefree bikeride, becomes engaged in a frantic yet playful battle with an over-zealous magpie who chases them through the streets. The strong rhythmic pulse mimics the non-stop pedalling of the bike rider, while sudden changes in mood follow the magpie through different stages of its attack. At its heart, "Swooped!" is a celebration of our vivacious Queensland wildlife, and should be played with some real enthusiasm and zest!
