“Cinemascope” takes audiences on a journey through the history of classic film scores, utilising the many colours of the Wind Symphony to invite the listener to create an accompanying story of their imagination. Beginning with a Superhero Fanfare, the music travels back in time to the black and white “Noir” films of the 40’s featuring the Bass Clarinet as a dark harbinger. A solo saxophone wails and transports us to the jazz-infused era of Detective films, before we launch into a Spy Mission that excites and propels us into danger. A Sad Romance ensues with the solo flute, building to a dramatic crescendo with the full symphony. A moment of pathos and grandeur then catapults us into a driving Epic Finale that brings back our opening theme with an ecstatic ending.
