Description
---------------------------
The Nullabor plain is a stretch of desert in the south of Australia. It’s bright red earth is covered by low scrubland. The drive from Adelaide to Perth, on the Eyre Highway, includes a 140km stretch of straight road in the 2,600km drive. Although the daytime temperatures can be searing, as with many deserts the evenings are cold, often dropping below freezing. Dawn across the plain is beautiful; rugged. A period of change from the cold nights to the hot days, the promise of a new day in an ancient landscape. - Alan Lourens
